SENIOR NEWS= LETTER

(April, 2008

    

  Seniors; this is no time to slump.=   Once you have a college option in = hand, you may get the urge to coast through the rest of the school year.  Maybe you’ve already decided= to slack off.  Before you give in= to senior slump, you should know that the college may be watching you.  Colleges, especially selective universities, have been known to withdraw offers of admission to students w= ho begin earning uncharacteristically low grades .This is checked on their sev= en semester transcripts.  Taking = an extended breather during your senior year can make your freshman year in college difficult.  So have fu= n your senior year, but don’t get early&nbs= p; SE= NIOR-IT IS.

   Absences are a big problem this time of the year.  You are allowed only 7 unexcused a= bsences in a full year course.  If you= have excuses you have not turned in; please do so to Mrs. Cindy Babineaux.  Hearings will be in a couple of weeks.  I have 40 seniors that= have over the allowed absences.  Pl= ease don’t wait to clear this up. You will not graduate with excessive abs= ences.  Please see me if you thing you are endanger of failing.  Letters = are being sent home after the 5th 6-weeks.;  TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS.<= /span>

     All debts to Car= encro High need to be cleared in the office or you do not walk on stage for gradu= ation.  Prom tickets also will be held.  These fees include lost books, cla= ss fees, library books, and cafeteria money owed.

May 5th-----         Senior Attendance Hearing

May 6th----          Senior Mee= ting 10:10 in gymnasium (Mandatory meeti= ng with Ms. Rath)

May 7th-12th--     = Senior Final

        =             &nb= sp;        May 7---3rd & 4th hour exams

        =                     =  May 8—7th & 8th hour exams

        =             &nb= sp;        May 9—1st & 2nd hour exams

        =             &nb= sp;        May 12—5th& 6th hour exams

        =             &nb= sp;        May 13- Senior Exam Make-ups        =     

May 14th-----       Seni= or Honor Night

May  15th-----      Graduation practice at Cajundome.Practice begins at 10:00 AM.

May 17th-----       Grad= uation will be at the Cajundome. (Report f= or 10:30; graduation 11:30)

 

  There is one more ACT test to qual= ify you for TOPS. (minus 1 semester)----June14th, 2008.  Register by May 9, 2008 to avoid t= he late fee.   Please see me= if you have not taken the ACT and need a fee waiver.  You are allowed 2 waivers; please = use them. Please turn in all award letters for scholarships; I need to do the senior = program.

FAFSA, FAFSA,FAFSA!!!!!!!!! Please complete this as soon as possible.  This will also register you for TO= PS.
