Misti Darby

Misti Darby didn't necessarily plan on spending her professional career teaching in a high school building; she was, however, planning on designing buildings as an architect.

Darby spent the bulk of her time in college in UL Lafayette's Fletcher Hall, where most architecture classes are

located, before she decided to change her major to education.

A 1989 graduate of Teurlings Catholic High School, Darby was a cheerleader for four years at her high school, and was very involved in school activities.

At CHS, she has continued her activism by becoming a co-sponsor for the Renaissance Club.

Darby taught at Beau Chene High for two years and at Sunset Elementary for four years.

Darby said that, “she wants (her students) to be in class throughout and wants (them) to enjoy learning and get the useful knowledge, (they) need.”

She added that the faculty here has been great to her with everyone greeting her and smiling at her. They are happy to answer any questions she may have.

“I am thrilled to be at Carencro High. I hope to be here for many years.” Darby said.

She and her husband Corey have a nine-month-old son, Wyatt.
