Richard McClendon
When one of your first full-time teaching assignments begins at a school that you began working in at midterm, the transition is certainly lessened.
Carencro High's new swim team coach and AOIT teacher is Richard McClendon, who served at CHS last year as a math and computer teacher.
A graduate of Hahnville High School and Nicholls State University, McClendon says he enjoys the personality of the school. “Carencro High School fits me very well,” said McClendon, “I like the students who think I'm funny also.”
During his days at Hahnville High and Nicholls State, Mr. McClendon was a member of the Swim Team making him a very appropriate candidate for the coaching position here at school.
Before coming to Carencro, he worked at Northside High School and before that, he was a database programmer for a few years. He said he is open-minded and glad to be where he is today.
McClendon, who has a wife with a child on the way, has just one message to the student body. “Just wait until volleyball challenge 2.”
