Tim Ortego

He may be one of the new faces at Carencro High School, but he's no stranger to television. It's likely that the students of Carencro High do not know that math teacher Tim J. Ortego is a music video star.

Ortego was featured in the Aerosmith music video The Other Side as a front row spectator.

Before stardom, Ortego's more humble roots include being his graduation from Westminster Christian Academy before he attended LSUE and UL Lafayette.

While attending Westminster, he was a member of the football, basketball, baseball, and track teams and was a member of the WCA ranger program.

He has a bachelor's degree in business administration, a bachelor's degree in education and is currently working on his MBA.

Ortego didn't always want to become a teacher, however; he originally aspired to become a lawyer.

Ortego is married and is the father of two boys, Cole, five, and Noah, 20 months.

His future goals are to teach AP calculus and eventually teach at the college level.

And when it comes to things that he likes the most thus far at CHS, he said, “the short lines at the copy machine (are one of his favorites),” Ortego said.
